For the treatment of urinary tract infections, otitis media, respiratory infections caused by susceptible organisms including penicillin susceptible S. pneumoniae, S. pyrogenes, H. influenzae, and Entero-bacteriaceae and with documented poor compliance or poor response to conventional oral antibiotics, out patient therapy of serious soft tissue or skeletal infections due to susceptible organisms and single dose oral treatment of uncomplicated cervical/urethral gonorrhea.
For oral use only.
The usual adult dose of Cefixime (Anhydrous) is 200-400 mg per day administered orally either as a single dose or in two divided doses, although lower doses may prove sufficient to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
For Children – 8mg/kg daily, as either a single dose or in two divided doses is recommended, or as prescribed by the physician.
